What to do when you haven’t kept up with your correspondences…

 Attracting customers is always the biggest challenge for small businesses. With so much energy put into advertising for new customers, many small business owners forget about their existing ones. Remember, repeat customers, on average, spend 67% more than new customers.

Yikes! You haven’t updated your phone book; Jane' number is out of service…

Don’t lose track of all of your customers. Keep up-to-date information about them on file and always have a way to keep in touch with them. Keeping thorough records of your customers helps for you to predict their behavior, keep your inventory stocked, sell memberships, and give you the ability to implement loyalty programs, for your most frequent customers.

Guess you can just leave her a message on Facebook…

An effective way to keep in touch with all of your existing customers is through the use of email marketing. With email, you’ll be able to constantly connect with your customers and stay on top of their minds. The next time they open up their inbox, they’ll be reminded that they needed that haircut, or that their dog needs to be groomed, or that they really could use that free massage they earned. Email marketing is also a great tool to use when looking to offer up specials and promotions for your business, giving your existing customers a reason to come back to your business, not you competitor, Bob’s, business.
