Bridal Package Ideas for Wedding Season

More than 2.3 million weddings are projected to happen in the United States this year. This means that a lot of women are seeking perfect skin, hair, nails and makeup for their big day. Whether your spa or salon is an established bridal destination or just beginning to develop wedding packages, brides and bridesmaids have different needs than the types of clients you see on a daily basis.

If you want to turn bridal services into a steady revenue stream for your business, you need to invest in creating special bridal packages and marketing campaigns to help you attract this audience.

Bridal packages may contain many of the same elements as ordinary service packages, but they have a few special considerations. Your spa or salon should not only provide brides with flexible bridal package options, but also provide helpful recommendations on timing and treatments.

Here are a few tips to help you develop a great set of bridal packages:

  • Know Your Audience: Consider your existing clientele when brainstorming package ideas. For example, if your spa caters to higher-end clients who love add-ons, your bridal packages should be more robust. If your salon has a younger, more cost-conscious crowd, you may want to develop packages that are high in value but moderate in price.
  • Offer Complimentary Consultations: A consultation is a great way to walk a bride through the benefits of each of your services and help her choose the perfect package. It’s also an ideal time inform the bride-to-be of any additional items she’ll need to bring for her trial (veil, hair accessories, photos of her gown and bridal look inspirations).
  • Don’t Forget the Wedding Party: While making the bride beautiful for her big day is top priority, you shouldn’t forget packages for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom and flower girl, as well. Manis, pedis, makeup, blowouts, and updos are all popular day-of services. Creating group packages with reduced pricing can give brides an extra incentive to book their beauty treatments with your salon or spa.
  • Give Brides Options: Pre-built packages can help guide your bridal clients’ selections. As with any packages, you should develop a few options at a few different price points to cater to brides with varying budgets. For example, spas may want to offer a full primp and prep package with a body wrap, facial, mani-pedi, wax, and massage spread out over a few days leading up to the wedding; on the other end of the spectrum, you might have a simple day-of package that includes a mani, pedi, and mini massage.

A high-end salon package might include multiple hair and makeup bridal trials, and a full updo and makeup application the day of the wedding; for more casual brides, a day-of blowout may be all they want.

  • Consider Bachelorette Party Packages: Salons can capitalize on bachelorette party festivities by offering group packages for blowouts, manis, or makeup before a big night out. Spas could offer a relaxation package for brides and their besties who want to be pampered.
  • Allow for a la Carte and Custom Packages: Having a set of standard bridal packages is a smart way to go, but special requests are to be expected when it comes to wedding services. You’d be wise to prepare for customizations, a la carte services, and last-minute add-ons to ensure that your bridal parties have a great experience with your salon or spa.
  • Leave a Lasting Impression: All brides appreciate receiving VIP treatment on their big day. Providing complimentary champagne, snacks, or aromatherapy can be a small gesture that goes a long way toward making your bride and her party feel special. You could also have an extra staff member available to greet the party, take photos, fetch drinks, and provide dedicated service throughout their visit.
  • Prepare for Offsite Service Requests: Some brides may request a beauty team to travel to their wedding location. This could range from a simple car drive away or as far as a flight to an exotic destination. With proper planning and an understanding of the needs of your business, offsite bridal packages can provide a lucrative boost in your sales. Be sure to have hourly rates, day rates, travel fees, and scheduling terms (required deposit & cancellation policy) established in preparation for these requests.
