We’re less than a week away from one of the most romantic (and profitable) days of the year - is your salon or spa ready to show your clients some love? Valentine’s Day is the first big sales holiday of the year for salons and spas, so it is imperative that you provide your clients with an experience that gives them all the feels. If you haven’t had a chance to nail down a marketing plan for for the big day, have no fear! We have some last minute tips that can help you reap in the benefits on this day of love.
Tip 1: Take advantage of gift cards
Gift cards are an excellent way to generate revenue all year-long, but they can be an especially effective marketing tool to increase sales on Valentine’s Day. Think about it. Everyone has someone special they want to pamper. By providing gift cards as a purchasing option in-store, on your website or on your Facebook page is a simple and convenient way for your clients to shower their loved ones on this special day. And let’s be honest, this holiday is something that can sneak up on a lot of people - you may want to create a “Buy a $100 gift card, get a $25 gift card for free” promotion for those who are looking for last minute gifts.
Tip 2: Offer a promotion your clients can’t help but love
Create a strong campaign with a focused theme to help draw in existing clients and coax potential clients to check out your salon or spa. Creating something that couples can do together such as a “Spa Day for Two,” or offering a special promotion that includes an add-on service that is cost-effective for your business but also provides value to your client are both great ways to show your clients a little extra love and increase sales.
Tip 3: Create Valentine’s Day themed product/service bundles
When clients come to your spa or salon to redeem or purchase Valentine’s Day gift cards, offer them a product or service add-on to get the most revenue out of their visit. As far as services go, spas could benefit from creating a special that combines a massage and a facial, while a nail salon may want to feature a manicure and pedicure deal.
Do you have any products that are collecting dust on your shelves? Try pairing some overabundant inventory with a hot-seller that falls in line with the holiday. Red, sparkly nail polish is always a solid choice for Valentine’s Day!
Tip 4: Utilize social media to encourage clients to come in
Share your Valentine’s Day promotions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to keep customers engaged on the sites they visit the most throughout the week. Create compelling, visual stories and images to share with your followers to really grab their attention.
