It’s that time a day, again. You just finished up your lunch and your eyelids are feeling heavy. You’re fighting the urge to take a nap right at your desk…or, you know, wherever you happen to be standing at the moment. You look longingly at the coffee machine and take a mental tally of how many cups you’ve already had today.
Skip the coffee. Here are some alternate ways to get your energy up without that extra shot of caffeine.
- Sunshine is Your Friend
According to a recent study, researchers have found that even just 15 minutes of sunlight can help increase your energy. When you’re feeling sleepy, just take a walk around the block and soak up those rays. Once that sunlight hits your eyes, you’ll start feeling more alert.
- Fresher is Better
Still tasting your lunch from an hour ago? Pop some gum in your mouth. With the help of peppermint gum, you can elevate your energy, alertness, and mood. Chew away, friends!
- Walk it Off
Any type of physical activity can help to boost your blood flow, thus, giving you that added boost of energy. Whether you’re walking across the office, around the block, or simply back and forth from desk to desk…you’re bound to wake up your body and mind.
- Snack-time
Low energy can be easily remedied with a good snack. Go grab yourself a handful of nuts and nosh away. Packed with both protein and fiber, nuts can help to replenish all that missing vitality.
- Rock On
Still feel like you’re fighting intense fatigue? Pop in your headphones and rock out to your favorite song. Singing/dancing/tapping your foot to the beat can help to wake you right up.
