5 Tips to Prepare for Valentine’s Day at Your Beauty Business

We’re quickly approaching one of the most romantic (and profitable) days of the year—is your salon or spa ready to show your clients some love?

Valentine’s Day is the first big holiday sale of the year for salons and spas, so it's important you provide your clients with an experience that gives them all the feels.

If you haven’t had a chance to nail down a marketing plan for the big day, have no fear! We have some tips to help you reap the benefits of the day of love.

Tip #1: Take advantage of gift cards

Gift cards are an excellent way to generate revenue all year long but they can be an especially effective marketing tool to increase sales on Valentine’s Day.

Think about it—most people have someone special they want to pamper on February 14.

So, providing gift cards as a purchasing option is a simple and convenient way for clients to shower their loved ones on this special day.

Make your gift cards festive by customizing their design(s) with V-Day pizazz and/or your branding.

Also, consider offering a “Buy a $100 gift card, get a $25 gift card for free” promotion for those looking to both give and get.

Tip #2: Offer a promotion your clients can’t help but love

Create a promotion that helps draw in both existing and potential clients alike.

Your “Valentine’s Day Spa Special” might include a complimentary add-on service or a special discount for couples (or small groups) looking to enjoy a service side-by-side.

With the Booker Group Booking feature, duos (and groups) can seamlessly book the same service, at the same time. They’ll spend the day together at your salon or spa, which is fun for them and great for business.

Tip #3: Spread the love (and the word)

The key to success with any promotion? Getting the word out through all of your marketing channels.

Share your Valentine’s Day specials with:

  • Signage at your front desk
  • On social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram
  • Through email and text marketing

With Marketing Suite, you can promote Valentine’s Day specials with email and text campaigns customized to your brand.

Tip #4: Create Valentine’s Day themed product and service bundles

When clients come to your spa or salon to purchase or redeem Valentine’s Day gift cards, offer them a service or product add-on to get the most revenue out of their visit.

For example:

  • A spa could offer a special that combines a massage and a facial
  • A salon could pair and discount a blowout and makeup application
  • A nail salon could feature a manicure and pedicure deal

Have products collecting dust on your shelves? Pair overabundant inventory with your best-sellers. Red, sparkly nail polish is always a solid choice for Valentine’s Day!

Tip #5: Opt-in to the MINDBODY Marketplace

What business wouldn’t want to be more visible to current and potential clients—especially right before a holiday like Valentine’s Day?

If you’re a Booker customer, you now have access to the MINDBODY Marketplace. This is a simple and effective way to get exposure and bookings with millions of clients actively looking for fitness, wellness, and beauty services.

By opting in now, you can be one of the first businesses to list your services in the new beauty and wellness categories on mindbody.io and start getting bookings on January 23.

With these tips, planning for Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be stressful. The features built within your Booker account make planning fast, simple, and downright lovely.

Your clients will be so in love with what your business has to offer that they'll be calling you Cupid in no time.
