When it comes to visual storytelling, Instagram is king. With over 800 million monthly active users, you should consider Instagram as one of the most effective ways to market your salon. Instagram is a great place to create a digital “lookbook” to showcase your creations for current clients and give potential clients a feel for your talents.
Even though Instagram is one of the most user-friendly apps around, there is still confusion surrounding how best to manage your profile, particularly when to post. Luckily, Instagram has a built-in “Insights” feature that allows you to see when your posts will be the most successful.
So, how can you be sure that you are posting at the right time? We’ve put together a list of steps that will help you nail down which days and hours are your sweet spot for snapping and sharing photos.

Step 1: From your profile page, click on the “Insights” button in the upper-right corner next to the “settings” icon.
Step 2: From the “Insights” page, scroll down to your “Followers” section and click on “See More.”
Step 3: To find out which day of the week is the most popular for you audience, click on “Days.” For Booker, our most popular days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Step 4: To find out which time of the day your audience is online the most, click on “Hours.” For Booker, the best times for us to post are 11am, 7pm and 8pm.
