This week we’re boosting our social media s
Owning and running a small business isn’t easy. Sometimes it feels like it’s a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, type job. The work never seems to end, and you feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water.
As a small business owner, you need to practice habits that keep you healthy and vibrant. This is why you need to drop everything you’re doing and give yourself some time off, once a week—even if it’s just for an hour.
1. Scheduled Down Time
With scheduled down-time, only to spend with yourself, doing something you love, you’ll have a chance to get away from it all. Being a small business owner is only part of the equation, you’ve still got family and friends and your personal life to tackle. Don’t let your own personal needs slip through the cracks.
2. Clear Mind
Experiencing some challenges at work that you can’t quite figure out? Take a break from fruitlessly searching for a solution and clear your mind. You’ll be astonished with what you can come up with once you’ve focused on something less tedious, even for just a little while.
3. Reignite your Senses
The monotony of everyday life has a tendency to dull everything. Experience life in Technicolor and spend some time doing something you enjoy. Watch a movie. Catch a game with your family. Go out for a massage. Just be sure to power down your computer and walk away from your desk. It will be there when you come back…we promise.
4. Promote A Healthy Lifestyle
Promote a healthy lifestyle; it’ll be good for both your business and your employees. Taking a simple walk around the park will help to reduce stress, enrich your relationships, strengthen your bones, and just make your happier.
5. Get Off Your Feet
Are you on your feet all day long? Do you find yourself running from appointment to appointment, phone call to phone call, disaster to disaster? Drop everything, find a comfortable spot, and get off your feet. Your body will thank you.
Have we convinced you, yet? C’mon, prove us wrong!
