When you’re establishing a social media presence, one of the greatest challenges, besides coming up with content, is getting quality followers. It’s sort of like throwing a party with zero attendees. Sure, there’s fun to be had…but what does it matter if nobody is there to experience it?
So you’ve sent the invitation out…
In order to start engaging with people on social media, you need to get new and quality followers. What are some of the current tactics you use to gain your followers?
Have you been including hashtags? If you’re looking to engage on Facebook and Twitter, hashtags are incredibly important! With hashtags, you’re able to connect with similar businesses, like-minded people, and industry experts. If used properly, you could see a real increase in followers.
Are you posting actively? Try to come up with a calendar or a posting schedule to make sure you’re on top of your game. The more active you are, the more chances your followers get to engage with you.
…but where’s the follow up?
Posting is just half the step. Now its time to get the conversation started. You need to become more proactive with engaging with some targeted folks, whether it be potential customers or industry experts. The more exposure, the better.
